My top 3 exercises for moms-to-be
Remember to consult your doctor before starting any exercise regime. Always warm up before you exercise and most importantly, listen to your body!
1 Child's pose
Start on your hands and knees. Slowly move your hips backwards and come to sit on your heels while keeping your hands on the floor. Widen your knees to accommodate your belly. This pose strectches the back and gluteals while allowing you to relax.
2 Core Stabilization
Start on your hands and knees. Ensure that your hands are directly below your shoulders. Slowly extend your right leg up and back. Once stable, extend your left arm out and forward. Hold this pose for a few moments then return to your starting position. Repeat on the other side.
3 Squat
Stand with feet hip distance apart. Slowly bend knees and squat towards floor ensuring that your knees remain in line with your toes. Go as low as feels comfortable. This exercise strengthens the quadriceps and simulates a birthing position.
My best on-the-go snacks
As a mom of 2 incredibly active kids I don't always have the time I need to sit and enjoy meals so I have to find ways to get great snacks without compromising on nutrition. Here are my top 3 snacks for those busy days that are also quite filling. You can find the recipes on my blog.
These are made with bananas, oatmeal and walnuts. They're really quite tasty and satisfying. I make them in mini muffin cups and my kids love them!
I'm a huge fan of trail mix but most store bought ones are full of sugar and the good ones aren't always cheap. I love this because you can pretty much put anything you want in it.
I'm all about keeping it simple and this drink couldn't be any simpler. I just use fresh kale and fresh pineapple in the juicer and it's ready to go! You can change it up to suit your tastes.
